    Southampton doctors are raising awareness about the importance of screening for bowel cancer during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month this April. 

    Treatment for early signs of bowel cancer has been very effective. With more than 28,000 people in Southampton being eligible for this test, your local NHS is encouraging you to consider the potential benefits of returning your sample sooner, rather than later.

    Local Solutions Launch Meetings

    Your local NHS and Southampton City Council would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss how you can support people in your community. Led by the CCG and with support from Southampton Voluntary Services, Local Solutions groups are being launched across the city. Local Solutions is for anyone in the community who wants to address local issues and gaps in support in the area, plan projects or interventions and help to build relationships between GP surgeries and the local community.

    Easter pharmacy opening times 2018

    Details of pharmacies open in Southampton over the Easter weekend are available on our website. As well as dispensing medicine, pharmacists can also provide expert advice on minor illnesses and injuries, such as hayfever and sore throats, and many pharmacies can provide emergency contraception. 

    Opening times are provided by the pharmacies, details are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change. If you do need to visit a pharmacy over a bank holiday please call ahead to check they are open and have the medicine you need.

    With Easter just a hop away, have you stocked up on any repeat prescriptions you need ahead of the bank holiday?

    GP practices normally require 48 hours to process repeat prescriptions, so make sure you order any medicine you’ll need ahead of the Easter weekend.
