Only 68% of women in Southampton take up offer to be tested for Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is diagnosed in 9 women every day in the UK and here in Southampton, less than 70% of the women eligible for a smear test, which could detect the disease, take up the opportunity to be screened*.

Supporting the Jo’s Trust national #SmearforSmear campaign; as part of Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the NHS in Southampton wants to increase the uptake of screening in local communities and provide additional information about the benefits the smear test can have.
