With the festive season fast approaching, local doctors want to help make sure you know about the Southampton health services here for you over the holiday period.

Local GP and Chair of NHS Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group, Dr Sue Robinson, said: "We all know the lead up to Christmas is busy, and we might not be thinking about our health as we get ready for the holidays, so we hope these simple tips will help to let you know about the services and support available here in Southampton."

Christmas and New Year pharmacy opening times 2016/17

Details of pharmacies open in Southampton over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays are available on our website.

Opening times are provided by the pharmacies, details are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change. If you do need to visit a pharmacy over a bank holiday please call ahead to check they are open and have the medicine you need.

If you need medical help or advice over the bank holiday and aren't sure where to go, phone 111. The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and calls are free from landlines and mobiles.

Decisions made on the future of mental health services in Southampton

The local NHS and Southampton City Council have announced plans to redesign mental health services in the city, based on feedback from local people.

Local views were gathered during the spring, as part of the Mental Health Matters consultation, which was run by NHS Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Southampton City Council and the Health and Wellbeing Board.
