Patient Participation Groups

Each of the local GP practices is a member of the CCG, and have their own Patient Participation Group (PPG) which gives local people the opportunity to get involved at a very local level and have their say. These groups are made up of patients with an interest in how their GP practice is run and who want to make sure their views are taken into account by GPs and Practice Managers.

Each GP practice runs their PPG differently. Some GP practices have groups that meet regularly while some may be a ‘virtual’ group that have a list of local people that they contact when they have a survey to complete or want feedback. Matters discussed may relate to the surgery or to other health experiences within the city. If you would like to find out more about Patient Participation Groups at your surgery please do visit their website through the links on our GPs and localities page.

The National Association for Patient Participation works to promote and support patient involvement in GP practices. Visit their website to find out more about Patient Participation Groups.
